What is BBL HEROic Treatment?
BBL HEROic by Sciton is the most advanced version of BBL (broadband light) therapy. It uses Intelligent Control™ software and a Skin Positioning System™ to effortlessly deliver consistent treatments with greater speed and precision while prioritizing enhanced patient comfort.
This effective treatment uses light energy to activate the body’s natural healing process, supporting skin renewal by replacing damaged cells and improving the overall appearance of aging skin. It can safely treat a wide range of skin conditions, including discoloration caused by sun exposure and wear, redness, fine lines, and skin laxity.
BBL HEROic can also help treat sun damage, pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, and visible blood vessels, while improving tone and texture across a variety of skin types, including patients with a light or dark skin tone.
During treatment, direct pulses of light energy gently heat the skin, you may feel warm with only mild discomfort, often compared to a quick snap or a mild sunburn sensation. This process stimulates collagen production and enhances the skin’s natural repair response.
BBL HEROic can be used for both facial and body treatments, including the neck, decollete, arms, legs, allowing providers to BBL HEROic treat multiple areas in one session.

BBL HEROic is a highly versatile treatment suitable for a wide range of skin types and goals. Ideal candidates are in good overall health, have realistic expectations, are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and do not have active skin infections.
Because BBL HEROic settings are customized to your skin type and tone, your provider will evaluate your Fitzpatrick classification during consultation to ensure safe and effective results.

In addition to BBL HEROic, SkinCeuticals SkinLab by Maffi also offers the traditional BBL device. This gives our providers greater flexibility when designing your treatment plan, allowing them to select the most appropriate technology based on your specific skin concerns and goals. While BBL HEROic is ideal for faster treatments and larger areas, traditional BBL can be an ideal option for more targeted treatments or maintenance sessions. By offering both options, we can fully customize your experience to deliver precise, effective, and personalized results.
What to Expect
Your BBL HEROic experience at SkinCeuticals SkinLab by Maffi is designed to be both effective and comfortable. To begin, your provider will cleanse the skin and, if necessary, apply a topical anesthetic. Protective eyewear will also be provided.
The BBL HEROic handpiece will then be applied to the skin in smooth, even motions. Treatment time depends on the size of the area and your skin concerns, but a full-face session typically takes about 15 to 20 minutes, with larger areas requiring more time. Multiple sessions spaced over time may be needed. Our goal is to minimize discomfort and provide long-term results tailored to your unique needs.
